About Warranty

All applicable warranties are issued by authorised agents, companies, or sellers. Almost all our items come with a warranty period ranging from 6 months, 1 year, to 5 years, depending on the type of product. Warranties cover manufacturing defects only, unless specified differently on the product page.

How to claim a warranty

When a product is sold on stopnshop.lk, the customer will receive the company or seller warranty along with the product (when applicable). We advise you to directly communicate with the company or seller if you have any questions regarding the item(s). The terms and conditions of the warranties are beyond our (stopnshop.lk) control, and it is your choice whether to use such warranties. Where applicable, the time period and/or details of such a warranty will be shown on our website.

What does a company warranty mean?

All products that mention “Company” or a specific company name, such as “Dinapala” or “Abans,” on the product page under the warranty sign come with an official authorised company warranty from the authorised dealer for the respective brand(s) in Sri Lanka. For example, the LG 260L Shiny Steel Smart Inverter Refrigerator comes with a 10 year company warranty. Which means that for any warranty claims, the customer should contact Abans PLC with the details provided in the warranty card. The warranty card and details are handed over to the customer along with the delivery and/or office pickup (certain company warranty products do not come with the warranty card due to automatic warranty activation).

What does the seller’s warranty mean?

Seller warranty means that the product warranty is backed by the registered Sri Lankan company that sells their item(s) on stopnshop.lk. For any warranty claims (if applicable), all customers can directly go to or contact the respective seller mentioned in the warranty card to claim the warranty. In some cases, customers can contact stopnshop.lk to request the contact details of the seller if needed for warranty claims only. The terms and conditions of the warranties are beyond our (stopnshop.lk) control. The time period and/or details of such a warranty will be shown on our website for your convenience.

Where can I find my warranty card?

Most warranty cards are either inside the package or attached to the package. Please note that stopnshop.lk may require you to open the product in order to validate the warranty.

How can I get a new warranty?

Most warranties can be claimed with the stopnshop.lk invoice. However, company-guaranteed items require the original warranty card to claim warranty, and we cannot guarantee if the company will issue a new warranty card if lost. Please note that if you require a new warranty card, a new warranty card issuing fee will be charged, and the customer is required to bear the full cost only if the respective company is willing to issue a new warranty card.

General Terms and Conditions for Televisions Sold on Stopnshop.lk with “Seller Warranty”

  1. The warranty is valid only when the stopnshop.lk invoice & the stopnshop.lk issued warranty card are presented as proof of purchase, indicating the date of purchase, model, and serial number of the product, along with the warranty sticker pasted on to the TV in-tact without any tampering. stopnshop.lk reserves the right to refuse any warranty if this information has been lost, removed, tampered with, or changed after the original purchase of the product(s).
  2. Stopnshop.lk’s obligations are limited to repair of the defect, replacement of the defective part, or, at its discretion, replacement of the product itself.
  3. All TV’s have to be handed over to stopnshop.lk for warranty claims. Warranty coverage will be void if a repair has been attempted by any unauthorised service centre. stopnshop.lk or it’s seller(s) shall not be liable for reimbursements, claims, or damages that may result from the unauthorised repair of the product.
  4. Repair or replacement under the terms of this warranty does not provide the right to an extension or renewal of the warranty period. Repair or direct replacement of the product under the terms of this warranty may be filled with functionally equivalent service exchange units.
  5. The warranty is not applicable to cases other than defects in material, design, and workmanship.

The warranty does not cover the following:

  1. Periodic checks, maintenance, repair, and replacement of parts due to normal wear and tear.
  2. Abuse or misuse, including but not solely limited to the failure to use this product for its normal purposes or in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions on usage and maintenance.
  3. Defects resulting from usage of the product in conjunction with accessories that are not approved by the manufacturer for use with this product.
  4. Failure of the product arising from incorrect installation or use that is not consistent with the instructions and technical or safety standards prescribed in the product user manual.
  5. Accidents, acts of God, lightning, water, fire, public disturbances, improper ventilation, voltage fluctuations, abnormal wear and tear, dust, excessive use, or any cause beyond the control of stopnshop.lk and its respective seller(s).
  6. Unauthorised modifications carried out to the product to enhance performance, look, etc., for which the product was not originally designed.
  7. Damage to the battery is caused by overcharging or failure to use it in accordance with the specific instructions for the core outlined in the product user manual.
  8. The serial number on the product has been altered, deleted, removed, or made illegible. stopnshop.lk warranty void sticker has been tampered with.
  9. The batteries are charged by chargers other than those approved by the manufacturer.
  10. Any of the seals on the battery enclosure or cells are broken or show evidence of tampering.
  11. The warranty doesn’t cover any TV accessories, including the TV stand.
  12. Pixel burns up to 7 dots on LCD or LED TVs are not considered defective, and no replacement of the panel or TV set will be made.
  13. All expenses, such as transport, incurred when handing over the product for services or warranty claims, should be borne by the customer.
  14. If there is any dispute about the applicability of the warranty, stopnshop.lk and its seller(s) decision shall be final.
  15. The above policies are for warranty service, and the customer will be responsible for any costs associated with non-warranty conditions. stopnshop.lk & its seller(s) reserves the right to make final decisions regarding problem determination and the appropriate service option. Exchange units assume the remaining warranty of the original product.

General Terms & Conditions for Phones & Tablets Sold on Stopnshop.lk with “6/12 Months Software Seller Warranty”

  1. A 4-day manufacturing defect warranty is provided for purchases.
    • The product needs to be handed over to the stopnshop.lk office within 4 days of collection or delivery.
    • Customer is responsible for all delivery charges for warranty claims.
  2. 6/12 Month Software Seller Warranty
    • Software defects within 6–12 months from the date of purchase. The software warranty will be void if the customer doesn’t correctly update the OS.
    • If the technician finds any unauthorised or improper OS installation, the customer will be charged for the service.
  3. A hardware warranty is not provided by the merchant.
  4. Please also note that phone-to-phone replacements cannot be done under any circumstances.
  5. Warranty claims undertaken will require a period of 21 to 28 working days.

General Terms & Conditions for Phones & Tablets Sold on Stopnshop.lk with “1 Month Hardware Seller Warranty”

As per the vendor or merchant, a 1-month hardware warranty and a 6-month software warranty apply to this device. These warranties are solely provided by the vendor or merchant.

Please note the following warranty conditions:

  1. Exclusions: Warranty claims will not be accepted for devices with physical damages, drop damages, water damages, cosmetic damages, burns, or issues related to the display and its touch sensors.
  2. Usage Conditions: Devices will not qualify for hardware warranty claims resulting from power fluctuations, overload, or misuse of the device beyond the manufacturer’s recommendations.
  3. Hardware Coverage: The vendor or merchant will provide hardware warranty services, including services for the motherboard and replacement parts, except for the display and the touch sensors.
  4. Voided Warranty: In the event of accidental liquid damage or accidental physical damage, the warranty for the device will be instantly voided. No service will be provided by the vendor, merchant, or manufacturer.
  5. If any dispute arises regarding any of the terms and conditions contained herewith, the decision of the respective vendor or merchant shall be final, and stopnshop.lk can’t intervene.
